Terror - Legion of Gore

Hell’s Headbangers bring us the first new studio recordings from Cleveland, Ohio’s cult death thrashers Terror (not to be confused with the three other Terrors in the USA alone, let alone elsewhere). ‘Legion of Gore’ is, as you’d expect, a two track stone cold thrash killer, and is out now through the aforementioned HH!

First track ‘Carving Techniques’ harkens back to those glory days in the late 80s/early 90s when Terror first appeared; where the line between death and thrash was a lot blurrier. There are some slow heavy sections with some nice melodic leads over the top, along with some flesh searing galloping riffs that scream a Death Angel influence. The title track is the more brutal of the two, with an iummense chug that would destroy any pit at ten feet. It’s probably going to be one of my favourite songs this year, a dense chunky slice of vintage Slayer worship, particularly in the manic solo.

I’m looking forward to hearing more from these guys, because ‘Legion of Gore’ is two tracks of the best thrash you might here this year. Bang your head and worship at the altar of real heavy fucking metal.
