Perversor - Anticosmocrator

Chilean blackened death metal thrashers Perversor are following up their 2008 debut ‘Cult of Destruction’ with new Hell’s Headbangers release ‘Anticosmocrator’. Half an hour of blackened thrashing death carnage is exactly what the doctor ordered, and it is exactly what you’re going to get!

Opener ‘Inhale’ captures the raw spirit of Sarcofago, early Bathory and Blasphemy, while injecting it with a filthy, junkie in an alleyway type danger. Snarling vocals fight with rattling drum and a raw as fuck guitar tone that could flay flesh from bone. This kind of primal, evil metal is a perfect antidote for commercialism. There’s no frills, no fancy riffs, nothing even remotely melodic. It’s all go, all the time.

The fiercesome rage of ‘Bestial Path’ is a particular highlight, along with the caustic ‘Awakening of the Ancient Ones’. Perversor take no prisoners and leave no one alive, and the machine gun intro to ‘The Age of Darkness’ gives creedence to that thought. This is a poisonous, blackened monster of a record that barely pauses to catch a ragged breath before returning to the beating. By the time you crawl to the end of ‘Metal Massacre’, you’ll never be the same.

If you like your face kicked in for half an hour, buy this record. Sublimely savage and uncompromisingly raw, Perversor do South American metal proud.
